Bazzana goes hitless as Guardians fall to Rays

Australian infielder Travis Bazzana played in Cleveland’s 11-3 loss to the Tampa Bay Rays at Tropicana Field. Bazzana went hitless in four at-bats and recorded no runs, RBIs or walks, with one strikeout and one runner left on base. He contributed two assists and two putouts from four fielding chances. The Rays built their lead with two runs in the second inning, added three in the fourth and scored five across the sixth, seventh and eighth innings. Cleveland scored once in the fourth before adding two in the ninth, but could not close the gap. Bazzana’s supplied season line stood at a .238 batting average, .336 on-base percentage and .403 slugging percentage.
