Volpato scores as Sassuolo edge Torino 2-1

Cristian Volpato made a decisive contribution as Sassuolo defeated Torino 2-1 at Mapei Stadium on 29 August 2026. Starting in attack, the Australian played 60 minutes, scored Sassuolo’s opening goal in the 32nd minute and registered two shots on target, three key passes and one successful dribble. His performance earned an 8.3 match rating, although he was booked for holding before being substituted on the hour. Sassuolo led 1-0 before Torino equalised through P. Comuzzo in first-half stoppage time, but D. Berardi restored the home side’s advantage in the 78th minute.
