Aquilani’s selection problem is becoming constructive

The selection issue for Aquilani is not simply whether Volpato deserves praise. It is whether Sassuolo’s attack functions well enough with him on the pitch to justify sustained responsibility before the hierarchy becomes crowded again.

Berardi’s return remains central to that calculation. If Volpato starts again after the international break and carries the same level of threat against stronger or more settled Serie A opponents, the discussion will move from early promise to structural importance.
