Maya Joint fights back to win US Open opener

Australian Maya Joint advanced to the second round of the US Open with a hard-fought three-set victory over Liudmila Samsonova in New York. Joint lost the opening set 6-3 but responded strongly, taking the second set 6-2 before completing the comeback with another 6-2 win in the decider.
