Cabrera falls in straight sets in Philadelphia

Australian Lizette Cabrera was beaten 6–2, 7–6(6) by Thailand’s Mananchaya Sawangkaew in the second round of the Philadelphia 125. Cabrera lost both sets, with Sawangkaew taking control of the opening set before edging a closely contested second-set tiebreak. The Australian managed to level the set at 6–6 after trailing, but Sawangkaew held her nerve to win the tiebreak 8–6 and complete a 2–0 victory. Cabrera’s tournament ended with the final score recorded as 2–6, 6–7(6).
