Herbert leads Australian charge at Royal Birkdale

Lucas Herbert was the leading Australian in the completed PGA Tour event at Royal Birkdale Golf Club, finishing tied sixth on 274, six under par, with earnings of $550,883. Adam Scott followed in a share of ninth at five under par after a 275 total, earning $336,380. Cameron John finished tied 28th on 278, two under par, and collected $102,817. Min Woo Lee placed tied 59th with a 282 total, two over par, earning $43,025. Cameron Smith did not make the final rounds, with his recorded result listed as CUT after a 142 total, two over par. Jason Day was also CUT after shooting 144, four over par. Trav Smyth likewise missed the cut, finishing on 143, three over par. The Australian results were headed by two top-10 finishes, with Herbert and Scott providing the strongest performances in the tournament.
