Curtis Mead contributes as Nationals defeat Diamondbacks

Curtis Mead appeared for the Washington Nationals in their 5–3 win over the Arizona Diamondbacks at Nationals Park. He went 0-for-3 with one run, two walks and no RBIs, home runs or strikeouts across five plate appearances. Mead also recorded four assists and four fielding chances without an error. Washington took control with a four-run third inning, while Arizona scored twice in the third and added one run in the seventh. The Nationals sealed the result with a run in the fifth and held the Diamondbacks scoreless in the eighth and ninth innings.
