J. Chapman helps ST Mirren hold on for narrow win
Australian goalkeeper J. Chapman played 89 minutes as ST Mirren defeated Kilmarnock 1–0 at Rugby Park on 2 September 2026. He made two saves, completed 39 passes and won his only recorded duel, receiving a match rating of 7.28. ST Mirren led from the fourth minute after Fraser Taylor finished a move assisted by Nikolas Agrafiotis, with the visitors protecting that advantage through the remainder of the contest. Kilmarnock had 43% possession and nine shots, including two on target, while ST Mirren recorded 57% possession, 10 shots and one effort on goal. The result came despite a relatively even disciplinary count, with both sides receiving two yellow cards. Chapman’s contribution was particularly important in a match where Kilmarnock created enough pressure to test the ST Mirren defence, but the visitors’ early goal ultimately proved decisive.
