De Minaur exits US Open in straight sets

Alex de Minaur was eliminated from the 2026 US Open in the second round, losing to Botic van de Zandschulp 6-4, 7-5, 6-2 in New York on 3 September. The Australian was unable to claim a set, finishing with a 0-3 record across the match. Van de Zandschulp took control in the opening set before edging a tighter second set 7-5, then closed out the contest with a 6-2 third set. The result ended de Minaur’s tournament participation at the R64 stage.
