Popyrin exits Cincinnati qualifying in straight sets

Alexei Popyrin was beaten by France’s Titouan Droguet in the first round of qualifying at the Cincinnati Open, losing 7-6(2), 6-1. Popyrin went down narrowly in the opening-set tiebreak before Droguet took control of the second set. The Australian finished with no sets won and two sets lost in a match lasting 1:27:56.
